Desert Dusk Look

This is one of my favorite make-up looks.....It requires lots of patience, as you will be blending for a long period of time but the pay off is worth it.  Be sure to prime your eyelids before and start with the lightest color in the palette as a base for maximum blend ability...I used a dark color from Lime Crime Venus XL to darken up the outer corners but you do not have to!

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk Eyeshadow Palette & Amrezy Highlight

Huda Beauty Desert Dusk eyeshadow palette

Beautiful, easily blendable, highly pigmented colors!  Find it here

Amrezy Highlight by Anastasia Beverly Hills

On the back of this compact Amrezy writes, "I'm always looking for the most luminous glow with a natural, second skin finish."  That is exactly how i would describe this highlighter.  It is one of the prettiest things I've ever seen in the package and on the face.  Use your ring finger to dab it on the upper cheekbones.

Tarteist Pro

This is another wonderful basic palette. I love this one because of the way the colors are organized.  If you move across each row and build you can create a great look every time with no fuss.

I used whimsy, mod, drama, punk and trendy to create my look.

Subculture

I stayed away from this palette because of all of the drama surrounding it.  In case you aren't aware people were upset at all of the fallout.  They found the eyeshadows to be too powdery.  Many also thought that the colors were hard to blend. I've seen this palette in so many people's "Worst products of 2017" videos!  To that I say, "To each their own."  I could not find this color selection anywhere else so I made up an excuse about getting off of the train at the wrong stop so that I could make a not so quick run to Sephora in midtown and show up late for an appointment.  The first time I used it I was terrified of making a mess.  Disclaimer- This palette is messy!  Yet I still reach for it a few times a week.  The moral of the story is that every pan has a lid, every foot has a shoe, every head has a hat- I could go on but I think you get my drift.

Sephora Blush

The only Sephora product I have ever tried was the Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in Always Red.  Walking by their display my eyes locked on this blush and my knees buckled.  It had to be mine.  It is the perfect pink for medium to dark skin tones.  It's deep and rich and kind of hot pinky, kind of a tad bit purplely.  I brought it up to the sides or my forehead for the look because life is too short to pretend that you don't love blush.

Lime Crime XL

Lime Crime XL Palette

I saw a few tutorials using this palette and decided to give it a try.  After having used it a few times, I find it indispensable.  The colors are highly pigmented without too much fallout.

For the look I used IDOLIZED as a transitional shade under all of the shadows to make blending easier.  I brought TRIUMPH down to my cheeks and used it as a blush.  I also used PASSION on the outer lid and brought it in to the middle.  I used BOTICELLI in the outer corner and INSPIRE and LOVE in the inner corner.

Follow this tutorial by Leigh Dickson.  After watching her I am now obsessed with bringing eyeshadows down to my cheeks!

Life Giving Lashes

I'd leave the house without brushing my teeth before I left without a lash.  My favorite right now is Jade #13.  They fit my eyes perfectly and are easy to apply.  They aren't pictured because I just reordered a bunch!

Other favorites are Rouge and Rogue Lady Killer and Luminara lashes, although I find these harder to apply the first or second time they are used.

I didn't want to jump on the bandwagon but I succumbed and tried these.  Yes, they are fantastic and horribly expensive...but you get what you pay for.  They pop onto the eye without a problem.  They can over power a look so save them for specific occasions........or not.
